Theory and applications of variational inequalities

H. Ben-el-Mechaiekh (Brock University), M. Cojocaru (University of Guelph), K. Lan (Ryerson University)

Variational inequalities were introduced in the 1960's for the study of partial differential equations from contact mechanics. They are widely used today as essential tools in solving game theoretic problems, market and financial equilibrium problems, differential equations and inclusions, and fixed point problems.‎
